Reliability and Repeatability of Methods for Measuring Muscle in Physiotherapy

The reliability and repeatability of various methods of measuring muscle size, strength and activation are discussed. The examples used in this review describe methods which the author has used in her experience of investigations of skeletal muscle. The importance of measuring muscle after injury and in disease is highlighted, and physiotherapists are encouraged to develop and improve methods of measurement.
