Multi-Step Closed Loop Identification and Control Design Procedure-Applications

Abstract A multi-step closed loop identification procedure is proposed, and tested on real plants, based on concepts that have been recently introduced in the literature. The main idea is to begin with a closed loop auto-calibration phase, using the KLV method. After getting a primary controller (P, PID), the next step is to perform an iterative closed loop identification and control design, in discrete time. Applications of this procedure on real plants are shown: an air heater and the ball and beam.
