Interactive segmentation of brain tumors in MR images using 3D region growing

rendering, radiation therapy planning, and automated assessment of signalcharacteristics of potentially malignant tissues. Once an accurate segmentationis obtained, this information may be used by the radiologist to compare thevolume, morphology, and tissue characteristics of each region against knownanatomical norms, other regions in the same image set, and correspondingregions in related image sets. For example, assessment of changes in tumorvolume can be made over time using robust segmentation techniques.A continuing need of oncology imaging is implementation of accurate,
