Energy is a vital need for the community, the availability of alternative energy in Indonesia, especially for micro hydro of about 450 MW, while only used around 84 MW, it is just 0.12% of the electrical energy requirement is needed. And this energy is more environmentally friendly. In the province of Yogyakarta for example, still a bit of this alternative energy use, but this region has much potential for micro hydro sources. This study is an early stage of development restudies microhydro power plant. Study conducted a survey of the feasibility for development in the village aside PLTMH in Bendo, Wukirsari, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data obtained from the irrigation channel is capable of producing approximately 714 watts power, with an area of 1.76 m², speed of 0.85 m / s and discharge 1.5 m3 / s Electrification ratio in Yogyakarta has only reached 84.48%, and this ratio should be 100% Increase. With the increasing electrification ratio requires an increase in fuel. This will increase the negative impact. So there is need for conversion to a renewable energy such as microhydro power plants are environmentally friendly, cheap and easy construction and can be used for street lighting at night and during the day tempe production. So already this business feasible received support from the government.
