Modelling Urban Water Use in Canada

This paper presents the results of a study of water use and its environmental determinants in eight Canadian cities. Various climatic factors are examined with respect to their effects on demand for water. The interrelationships are examined using a regression model. A quadratic regression model with only one causal variable (mean maximum daily temperature) was developed to explain water use in most cases.
