On Frequency Dependence of Propagation Loss in Non Line-of-Sight V2V Communications

The propagation loss characteristics in vehicle to vehicle communications (V2V) are analyzed in detail. In Japan, the 700MHz band is now considered as a candidate of the new ITS spectrum. The main focus of the analysis is on the frequency dependence of the propagation loss in non line-of sight (NLOS) environments. As the results of the analysis, it is shown that using the lower frequency band the extension of the service area can be possible particularly in the over-the-intersection NLOS environments.
