LEGAL ENGLISH OR LEGAL ENGLISHES? DIFFERENCES IN DRAFTING TECHNIQUES IN THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING WORLD ∗

First of all, I would like to thank the Law Faculty of the Universita degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II” for inviting me to take part in this seminar. My paper is divided into three parts. I shall begin by briefly examining the following points: • why there are differences in drafting techniques in the English-speaking world; • which areas are considered as more ‘advanced’ and which as more ‘conservative’ in their drafting techniques; • what the differences consist in, providing examples to illustrate some of these differences.
