History and Science Behind the Six-Axis Correction External Fixation Devices in Orthopaedic Surgery

Six axis external fixation has become one of the most useful tools in deformity correction. These devices are all modifications of the original Stewart-Gough platforms. Orthopedic patents date back to 1985. There are many different versions of this technology with numerous patents for each new and different device.
