The Study on Statistic Characters of the Transient Response of Twisted Wire Pairs Illuminated by a Stochastic Electromagnetic Pulse

In this paper, the statistic characters of Twisted Wire Pairs illuminated by a stochastic high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) have been studied. Firstly, the finite-difference time-domain transmission line model (FDTD-TLM) method is used to obtain the transient response of the coupling. The time domain waveforms of the interference voltages on the terminal of TWP, when it is excited by HEMP, are proposed directly in time domain. Then, combining the Unscented Transform (UT) method and FDTD-LTM method, we get a powerful tool to study the statistic Characters of the TWP-HEMP coupling efficiently. The mean and the standard deviation of the interference voltages amplitude have been obtained when the incident angle and the polarization angle of the excited HEMP are random variables.
