Competitive maintenance scheduling and settlement base on bidding in electricity market

For the purpose of ensuring system security and fairness among the units, a competitive mechanism for maintenance scheduling is presented in this paper. Units in the market bid for the maintenance space. It can be separated into three steps while scheduling units' maintenance. First, the concept of available maintenance capacity is introduced so as to confirm how much capacity in the market can be planned outage in a certain period. Secondly, a completely transparent bidding model and the corresponding algorithm are given. Thirdly, units' maintenance cost and surplus come from the bidding is rearranged to minimize supplier's cost. Theoretical analysis and case study shows that the mechanism guarantee impartiality well.
