Noise reduction method and system for optical fiber surveillance video sequence

The invention discloses a noise reduction method and system for an optical fiber surveillance video sequence. The method includes the steps of obtaining differential images of interval frame images, extracting noise areas contained in the differential images, generating corresponding masking images, and filling the noise pixel positions of the masking images with pixels in the corresponding positions of the middle frame image on the first frame image so as to obtain noise-reduced images. By means of the method and the system, almost all granular noise targets of optical fiber surveillance video images can be effectively extracted, it can be well ensured that movement information in an original video is not lost, high reliability and real-time performance are achieved, no new noise can be led into the noise-reduced images, and the image acutance of the original images can not be lowered.
