Selectivity of lightning strikes by air termination rods of integrated lightning protection systems

The paper deals with the dimensioning of air termination systems in order to reduce the controversies appearing in approach to this subject. The attention is paid especially to the positioning of rods as vertical air terminations and to the meshed arrangement of horizontal air terminations. In both cases the dimensioning methods of spaces to be protected are related to the rolling sphere method and its application with regard to real conditions influencing the dimensioning.
