Numerical Simulation of the Pusher-type Slab Reheating Furnace

In the present work, a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software package, FLUENT, was used to developthree-dimensional flow field of pusher-type slab reheating furnace of the second high speed wire rod plant of XiangTan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd.The purpose was to gain knowledge of gas flow and velocity and pressure distribution in the furnace. It shows that the numerical results wasgreatly in accord with its practice and the characteristics of the furnace configuration. It can be used as the gist of improving the performanceand construct by analysing and studying the behavior of the reheating furnace.
