Electric Vehicles charging scenarios associated to Direct Load Control programs (DLC)

The presence of the Electric Vehicles in the market will increase in the next decades, which will lead to higher electric demand. Thus the electric generation' capacities issue will have to be considered. A solution could be to invest in peak generation plants, but this is not suitable regarding environmental aspects. Moreover, local peaks demand in the distribution network can induce contingencies (congestion, overload) that must be prevented to preserve the system security. Then smart charging scenarios of Electric Vehicles associated with Demand Side Management actions - Direct Load Control actions applied on other electric loads - can be an interesting solution to manage these contingencies. The latter point will be considered in the paper.
