Community Structure and Delinquency: A Typology

This article reviews the recent literature on community and crime from the social disorganization perspective, with the purpose of constructing a typology of communities. This typology is then used to generate hypotheses on the relationship between community organizational characteristics and delinquent behavior rates. Research and policy implications of this approach are discussed.
