Enumeration des graphes planaires a l'aide des series formelles en variables non commutatives

L'enumeration des grapises planaires a ete developpee par W.T. Tutte et son ecole. Nous abordons le sujet par des moyens tout a fait differents' nous etablissons une bijection entre les graphes planaires et un langage formel. Des relations verifiees par ce langage formel dans l'algebre des sous-ensembles d'un monoide libre, nous deduisons des equations avec operateur pour des series formelles en variables non commutatives. Ce sont des series generatrices pour graphes planaires; de cette facon, une theorie de ces equations nous permet de donner des formules d'enumerations.
