A Continuous Design PBL Machinery Slide Table System Project in Control Engineering

This paper presents a continuous design problem-based learning (PBL) project consisting of the modeling, analysis and design of a machinery slide table system. The project is carried out as part of Automatic control theory, a third-year course for many engineering major undergraduate students such as automation and control major. High-precision machinery places stringent demands on table slide systems. This continuous design problem to build on a design problem from chapter to chapter. The techniques and tools presented in each chapter are applied to the development of a design solution that meets the specifications. Compared with a traditional method, the PBL machinery slide table tool was highly rated by about 300 students.
