MPEG video source smoothing within GOP pattern for real time video applications

This paper is focus on the real time MPEG video source smoothing After analyzing the characteristics of MPEG video sources and the delay constrain of real time VBR service,an idea is proposed which the MPEG video source smoothing within GOP pattern is very near with the best smoothing for real time video applications A theorem about the smoothed service rate upper and lower constrain is conducted,and one scheme of choice of the smoothed rate between the upper and lower constrain is designed Two different MPEG video traces is used for test the algorithm at last We conclude the MPEG video source smoothing within GOP pattern is good at not only the smoothing effectiveness,but also the implementing simpleness
