VIII Congenital Laryngeal Cleft

The cleft larynx was first recognized and described by Richter in 1792. No further reports of this anomaly were forthcoming until Finlay" described three siblings with laryngeal stridor, one of which was found at necropsy to possess a cleft larynx. This paper appears to have awakened interest in the condition and to date, a total of 31 cases, including the four described herein, have been recorded in the world literature.1 -1Q,12-14 , 16 19 ,2 1,22
