Ripple-free deadbeat control

The problem of tracking a continuous reference signal in a deadbeat fashion for continuous time-invariant single-input-single-output linear systems is considered. A design procedure for a causal controller under which the output of the closed-loop system coincides with the given reference input after finite time is presented. The case in which constraints on control action are imposed is discussed. Results from a simulation example and from laboratory experiments are also presented.<<ETX>>
