The Khatena-Torrance Creative Perception Inventory for Identification Diagnosis Facilitation and Research

Mississippi State University Considerable evidence has accumulated to support the use of autobiographical instruments as screening devices for giftedness and creativity. Instruments to measure an individual’s perception of himself in the form of checklists, questionnaires, and inventories have been found to be an efficient way of identifying creative talent (e.g. Roe, 1963; Taylor, 1958). More recent studies using the biographical inventory technique to identify creative talent and to predict success in artistic, literary and scientific creativity have confirmed this view (Anastasi & Schaefer, 1969; Ellison, James, Fox & Taylor, 1971; IBRIC, 1974).
