KINETICS OF DENSIFICATION PROCESSES OF POWDER MATERIALS UNDER ELECTROPULSE SINTERING

The process of electropulse sintering of ferrous and high-speed steel powder materials by powerful pulse current and external pressure was investigated. Formation of high density and high strength structure of ferrous and highspeed steel powder materials was analyzed and optimal process parameters were determined. Experimental results of kinetics of the process of powder material consolidation under electropulse impact are shown below. We studied the densification process of powder material during electropulse sintering by means of high-velocity filming. Pulse current parameters were measured by the Rogovsky coil. Temperature evolution during the electropulse sintering process was measured by the thermocouple method. We have established the wave nature of the powder densification process in electropulse sintering. We determined wave front velocity of the densification process and pressure amplitude in wave front depending on parameters of electropulse sintering.
