New Concepts and Algorithms for Dual Chamber Defibrillators

Ventricular ICDs have not been capable of reliably discriminating SVTs from VTs. Thus the needs for a dual chamber ICD with, at a minimum, sensing in the atrium and with a detection algorithm that discriminates between episodes of SVT and VT. Such a device has been developed. Test results illustrating SVT rejection, SVT therapy along with possible extensions are presented.
