Early detection of primary cutaneous malignant melanoma. A color atlas.

Abstract Recognition of malignant melanoma in an early stage, when cure is more probable, is often possible through inspection of the color of the lesions, with particular attention to shades of blue. As shown in this atlas, such lesions can be recognized with the naked eye, before biopsy specimens are taken. (N Engl J Med 289:989–996, 1973)
