However, none piqued my interest as much as a recent debate about boundaries in professional relationships, a topic that I have struggled with and researched for many years. As a psychotherapist in private practice, I first confronted the controversy of boundary issues 15 years ago, when a client revealed that her former therapist had sexual relaMilgrom (1992) described this definition very well:
