Optimal scheduling for energy hub in power markets

Energy hub has received considerable attention worldwide recently because it can help integrate multiple-energy resources including renewables and increase the energy efficiency of the overall energy system. Common researches mainly explore the technical implementation of energy hub considering the coordination of gas, electricity, heat and cooling, while pay little attention to the optimal scheduling problem for energy hub participating in the market-based environment. Therefore, this paper first briefly introduces the general concept and modelling of energy hub including energy conversion and storage unit. Then, an optimal scheduling problem for energy hub, which is considered as a price-taker in power markets is proposed. Several case studies are performed and the numerical results validate the proposed model and show the economic benefit brought by coordination with multiple energy resources.
