The invention relates to a test method applied to a vehicle driving machinery resistance. A vehicle is placed on a rotary drum. A rigid connection rod is used to horizontally fix the vehicle. A gearbox is arranged at a neutral position. The rotary drum is used to reversely drag the vehicle. The rotary drum drives the vehicle. After high speed preheating stabilization, the resistance (or power) under an uniform speed is measured. According to different purposes and demands, the resistances or power of the vehicle in different states at a speed or various kinds of speeds can be tested. In the method, the rotary drum (a chassis dynamometer) is used to measure the machinery resistance (or consumed power) when the vehicle is running and the resistance can be decomposed to transmission system parts of the gearbox, wheels, a brake and the like. Measurement result repeatability is good and measurement precision is high. A blank of vehicle machinery resistance measurement is made up. The method is significant for a traffic transportation industry vehicle design, production, vehicle identification and the like. In addition, the method can be popularized and used in component performance research of the vehicle based on a vehicle condition and quality assessment and enhancement.
