Possibilities of increasing operational performances of Pp-55 steam generators by the modification of burners configuration

The paper is based on a practical request viewing the difficulty of achieving rated steam flow in Pp - 55 steam generator within a coal - supplied power station. In order to solve the problem, a constructional and functional analysis was made of the following: coal - grinding mills, coal dust supply circuits, burners, steam generators. Analytical studies were made, followed by a solution consisting of: correlation of mill operation with coal grade, dimensional modification of burners and fixing additional burners. Practical application of the considered solution led to the following effects: - 28% reduction of the energy specific consumption to the steam generator; - Unburned fuel present in the breeze went down from 4.6% to 0.9%; - Grinding flow of the mill increased with 41.16%; - Very good stability of the flame; - Load availability of the boiler.
