Testing the applicability of intelligent methods for information retrieval

Presentation de deux evaluations de l'utilisation de l'intelligence artificielle dans les systemes de recherche de l'information, elaborees au Virginia Tech. Le «Composite Document Expert/extended/effective Retrieval» systeme (CODER) est developpe depuis 1985 pour tester l'utilisation de l'intelligence artificielle dans la recherche de l'information. Le «Retrieval Experiment-Virginia Tech On Line Catalog» (REVTOLC) permet de mesurer le service rendu a differents utilisateurs en fonction de differents besoins. Cinquante-trois participants ont ete repartis en 4 groupes d'utilisateurs pour mener a bien cette experimentation des systemes
