Health and Strategic Environmental Assessment

This paper reflects on how human health is dealt with in strategic environmental assessment (SEA). It is shown that in current practice, whilst aspects affecting physical aspects of health (e.g. pollution, emissions) are routinely considered, social and behavioural aspects are only occasionally covered. An important question arising is whether and if, how, all health determines should be considered in SEA.
