QMAA: QoS and Mobility Aware ACO Based Opportunistic Routing Protocol for MANET

In ad hoc networks, the dynamics of mobile nodes and topology leads to the frequent links breaks and formation as mobile nodes move randomly across the network area. The frequent changes in network topology may suffer from the frequent task of link breaks and links building to transfer data from the source node destination node. The quality of service (QoS) performance of such networks mainly depends on how well the routes are stables and efficient in network. The tasks of route discovery and route formation and data transmission are the key factors of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) routing protocols. To improve the QoS performance of routing protocols, the state-of-art algorithms presented in recent past. However, designing scalable QoS aware routing protocol is still key problem. In this research paper, we investigated the novel routing algorithm based on optimization algorithm to select more stable and mobility aware routes to forwarded data from source to destination. The proposed routing protocol is based on optimization scheme called Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) with swarm intelligence approach. This proposed method used the RSSI measurements and energy metrics to determine the distance between two mobile nodes in order to select efficient path for communication. This new routing protocol is named as QoS Mobility Aware ACO (QMAA) Routing Protocol. The simulation results show that QMAA routing protocol achieved the significant performance improvement as compared to state-of-art routing protocols.
