Design of a Recurrent Functional Neural Fuzzy Controller for Dynamic System Control

This study presents an recurrent functional neural fuzzy controller (RFNFC) for dynamic system control. The proposed RFNFC model has feedback connections added in the membership function layer that can used to memorize past information. A hardware-in-the loop (HIL) control technique is developed and applied to the designed RFNFC. The proposed RFNFC is used in the practical applications - the planetary train type inverted pendulum system. The experimentation is developed in a real-time visual simulation (VisSim) environment. Experimental results of this study have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed RFNFC for solving the dynamic system control problem.
