Does natural sagittal inclination of the trunk interfere with balance control during quiet standing?

Blackburn et al. (2003) have studied the kinematics of the trunk and the hip on different support surfaces during bilateral stance. They conclude in part on the necessity to explore the role of the trunk on postural control. Regarding to this consideration, the aim of the present preliminary study was to verify whether natural trunk leaning attitude in the sagittal plane, during quiet standing and on firm surface, may interfere with balance control mechanisms.
