Impact vaporization of rocks using a high-power laser

We accelerate glass spheres using a high-power laser, GEKKO XII-HIPER. Glass spheres are accelerated to a velocity of ~ 15 km/s. This is enough to do impact vaporization of silicate rocks in a laboratory in a future.
