Ireland's government publications: A note on their character and bibliographical control

Abstract A review is provided of the pattern of government publications for Ireland from 1800 to the present and a brief indication of the character and enduring interest of a selection of older publications is given. The value of bibliographical aids offering summaries of significant papers to historians and other researchers is stressed and a statement is made regarding present progress and plans for such breviates of Irish papers and British papers relating to Ireland.
