Centrelink's new approach to learning and assessment

The Centrelink Virtual College, established in 2001 as a registered training organisation (RTO) to ensure all staff have equal access to learning that enhances work performance and delivers business benefits, is the focal point of learning within Centrelink. This paper presents the College's model for learning. Four elements of this model are presented. They are: a career pathways model for learning and progression throughout the organisation; a strategic framework for linking learning with performance and organisational improvement; a new approach to learning and assessment; and the satellite capability for delivering learning.
