Emission and Immunity Testing for PWM Inverter

This paper presents methods and setup of some emission and immunity testing for PWM inverter systems complying with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards that commercial PWM inverters must meet before being put on the market. In order that a PWM inverter may be seen as being EMC compliant, emission and immunity testing should be undertaken to various EMC standards. The facility of emission and immunity equipment including causes and problems of conducted emission and immunity disturbance of PWM inverter have been considered. In addition, the paper reports the EMC measurements results for PWM inverter that have turned out to be decisive in ensuring that commercial PWM inverters used in most situations without fearing EMC problems.
