Simulation of energy and carbon fluxes over a typical cropland during the summer maize growing in the Yellow River irrigation region by use of SIB2

A simple biosphere model (version 2, SiB2) is an ecological model with high simulation accuracy, which can be used to simulate the dynamic change of the fluxes of water, heat and carbon. This paper simulated the dynamic change of the fluxes of energy and CO2 by SiB2 based on the observational data from June 20, 2005 to October 9, 2005 in Weishan experimental station. The results showed that SiB2 was good at simulating the fluxes, the simulated net radiation, latent heat flux, sensible heat flux and CO2 flux were shown to be basically in agreement with the observations with their square of related coefficient being 0.99, 0.66, 0.36 and 0.70 respectively. In addition, the average simulated value of net radiation and sensible heat flux were lower than the observed values, and others were higher than the observed ones.
