A wideband 90° polarisation rotator using split-ring resonators

A new polariser composed of two pieces of substrates coated on one surface with split-ring resonators to realise a 90° polarisation rotator is presented. Based on the accurate design of material parameters, high conversion efficiency and 20% frequency bandwidth are achieved. Microwave experiments were performed to successfully realise these ideas and results are in excellent agreement with numerical simulations.
