Backward Forward Propagation Power Flow Method for Radial Distribution Systems

The power flow analysis is a computer simulation which determines the steady state voltages at each node and power flowing in the lines. The power flow solution forms the basis of all optimization problems. The steady state operating condition of a system can be obtained from the power flow solution. It is becoming apparent that currently employed load flow techniques of transmission systems are not suitable for distribution systems. In this paper backward forward propagation is presented for radial distribution power flow analysis. The proposed method is illustrated through two different systems consisting of 33 node and 69 node systems.
