Decreased bilayer stability due to transmembrane potentials

Abstract Transmembrane potentials serve to increase the rate of production of pores associated with thermal fluctuations. The critical pores previously described by Litster increase in frequency in a way that can account for observed critical voltages for bilayer rupture.
