Methods and issues in applying Anti Plagiarism Software

Attempt has been made to explain the experiences of the authors while using the plagiarism prevention tools like iThenticate, Turnitin, Urkund and Viper. The main focus is on the aspect of ‘similarity report’ projected by the tools. Further,the paper explains various issues and problems pertaining to the exclusion of quoted material, bibliography and references,including small matches and small quotes. Paper projects explanation of various issues which gives a clear understanding of the use of anti plagiarism software packages in Indian Universities.
