Studies on China’s New Energy Development

In this paper, the author, presents an in-depth investigation of the status quo of China’s new energy development and the challenges China faces in this felid. China is one of the largest countries in hydropower generating capacity, and its nuclear energy, which started from scratch, enjoys a rapid increase, and its wind power development is also picking up quickly, and its thermal power plants are much cleaner. At the same time, China has many urgent and serious problems to address: mounting tasks in making coal-fired plants greener, difficulties in further development in hydropower, challenges in new energy development, safe and sound and orderly development of nuclear power calling for more attention. Based upon the analysis, this paper comes up with some corresponding measures, such as the well-balanced energy development planning, greater efforts to be made in the renewable energy development, orderly implementation of the nuclear power project construction, actively promoting hydropower development and improving the clean technology for the coal-fired plants.
