Experimental Evaluation of Super High-Speed Grinding of Advanced Ceramics

Development of advanced ceramics such as aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, and zirconium oxide has gained significant importance because of their desirable properties. However, their engineering applications are still limited owing to the limittions in developing crack-free and economical machining techniques. This paper presents a feasibility study for attaining high productivity with minimal surface damage by employing the high-speed grinding processes for such materials. The effects of the grinding parameters on the machined parts are analysed and reported.
