Research on hydraulic conductivity of porous asphalt mixture

Authors present a device for measuring hydraulic conductivity of porous asphalt in order to analyze the factors that influence hydraulic conductivity of asphalt mixture.Asphalt mixtures of different air voids,aggregate gradations and asphalt binders are tested.It is concluded from the test that hydraulic conductivity is much concerned with air voids and aggregate gradation,rather than the properties of asphalt binders.Moreover,it can be drawn that air void is a key index that influences bydraulic conductivity of asphalt mixture,and both aggregate size and percent passing ratio of 2.36 mm sieve opening have great influences on hydraulic conductivity;rational hydraulic gradient for measuring hydraulic conductivity of porous asphalt mixture should be less than 0.03,and the quota 1.5×10~(-2) cm/s can be regarded as the technical norms to comment on the permeability of the porous asphalt mixture.
