Design of A/B Mode Probe for Ophthalmology Ultrasound

The design principles and its realization of a A/B mode probe for ophthalmology ultrasound were introduced in this paper. In order to eliminate low frequency oscillation, a micro step motor, which was stimulated by a multi-level and high precision subdivisional driver, was used as a scanning device. Coupling the device with PTFE common bevel gear, a B mode probe was formed integrating mechanics, electrics and ultrasound. For an A mode biometric probe, ultrasonic beam orientation, measuring position and speed setting ensured the precision of the measurement. More than 3000 ophthalmology ultrasound instruments used this kind of A/B mode probes. It has been showed that these probes meet the clinical expectations.
