The Design of a Wireless Rate Adaptive Routing Protocol Based on Network Coding

Traditional network coding scheme adopts a fixed transmission rate without considering the impact of diverse rate on the performance of the network, which limits the performance of wireless network. Thus,a network coding scheme based transmission rate adaptation routing protocol TRANC for wireless mesh network was proposed,in which each node makes the routing decision according to the characters of data transmission and the wireless link quality, making full use of the transmission capacity of idle nodes in the network, which effectively reduces the communication costs between nodes,as well as the probability of packet duplication.Simulation results show that the optimized routing protocols can effectively improve network throughput with a lower end to end delay.
