is surely as well founded as the other, and I had no idea that either could be called in question. It follows then that in the treatment of chorea one may be pardoned for doubting whether in this or other occasional outcrop of the rheumatic constitution it is desirable to augment so largely the lowering effect of the complaint upon the blood by the free use of a remedy which has itself a similar depressing action. Therefore, although I am far from wishing to underrate the authority with which Dr. Lees is entitled to speak on such a matter, I cannot bring myself to agree' with his conclusion without much modification. In writing this I assume the accuracy of Dr. Lees's assumption that chorea is invariably associated with the rheumatic dyscrasia. This, however, is an arguable proposition and one to which I should hesitate to give my unqualified adhesion.-I am, etc.,
