Taking the College English Test(CET) as an example,we discuss the feasibility of linking language tests to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language:Learning,Teaching,Assessment(CEFR) from the content specification perspective. To this end,we analyze College English Curriculum Requirements and CET based on the CEFR descriptors and Dutch Grid. The result has manifested that CET content is basically consistent with the CEFR,and thus CET can be linked to the CEFR.This study aims at seeking a description of the CET takers' language competence and interpreting the scores within the CEFR,so that their language competence could be measured more comprehensively and accurately. The study also aims at facilitating the CET results to be better understood and used by foreign universities and research institutions when they could be interpreted on the same platform of CEFR.
