Characterization of a wideband, low‐Q, electrically small antenna

Using numerical and experimental techniques, a wideband, low-Q, electrically small antenna design is characterized as a function of frequency and the relative phasing between antenna elements. The antenna demonstrates wideband operation, with a radiation Q approximately a factor of 20 below the Q-limit established by Chu for electrically small, omnidirectional antennas. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
